Frequently Asked Questions

What quality setting is best for Amazon product images?

Amazon's zoom feature requires sharp detail, so use 80–85% quality. At this level you'll reduce file size by 50–65% with no visible difference in listing images — faster loading and the same zoom quality.

Does this tool upload my images to a server?

No. Everything runs locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images are never uploaded to any server — processing is instant and completely private.

What's the difference between JPEG and WebP compression?

WebP typically achieves 25–35% smaller file sizes than JPEG at similar quality. Most modern browsers and Shopify/Etsy support WebP. Amazon currently requires JPEG, TIFF, PNG, or GIF — not WebP.

Can I compress a PNG file?

Yes. However, for product photos, converting PNG to JPEG first (using the Image Converter tool) and then compressing will produce much smaller files, since JPEG is better optimized for photographic content.
